What Is a Subdomain
A subdomain is a prefix added to your main domain, such as blog.yourbusiness.in or crm.yourbusiness.in. It behaves like a separate website while staying under the domain you already own. Subdomains are free to create on our cPanel hosting plans and do not require a new registration.
Creating a Subdomain in cPanel
- Log in to cPanel from the client area at app.techguru.co.in.
- Open Domains and click Create a New Domain, or use the Subdomains tool on older themes.
- Enter the full subdomain, for example blog.yourbusiness.in.
- Set the document root, which is the folder that will hold the files for this subdomain. Keep the suggested folder unless you have a reason to change it.
- Click Submit. The subdomain usually starts working within minutes because DNS is added automatically when we host your DNS.
If your DNS is managed elsewhere, also add an A record for the subdomain pointing to your hosting IP.

- blog.yourdomain for content marketing on WordPress while the main site stays static.
- shop.yourdomain for a store platform separate from the brochure site.
- crm.yourdomain or billing.yourdomain for internal tools, keeping staff bookmarks tidy.
- staging.yourdomain for testing changes before pushing to the live site.
- m.yourdomain is largely outdated; prefer responsive design instead.
Things to Remember
- Each subdomain needs SSL coverage. Our AutoSSL issues certificates for subdomains automatically, but confirm the padlock after creating one.
- Search engines treat subdomains as separate sites for ranking purposes. For SEO content, a subfolder such as yourdomain.in/blog is often the better choice.
- Subdomains share the same hosting resources as your main account, so a heavy application on a subdomain can slow the main site.
