How to Register a New Domain — Step by Step Print

  • 0

Step-by-step registration

  1. Open Store → Register a New Domain in the portal.
  2. Search your preferred name. If taken, try TLD alternatives (.in, .co.in, .net, .online) or name variations.
  3. Select the registration period (1–10 years). Longer terms lock today's price and avoid yearly renewals.
  4. Choose add-ons: ID Protection hides your personal details from public WHOIS — recommended.
  5. Complete checkout. The domain activates within minutes and appears under Domains in your client area.

Choosing a good domain

  • Short, easy to spell, no hyphens where possible
  • .in / .co.in for an India-focused business; .com for global reach
  • Register the common misspellings and the .com + .in pair if brand protection matters

After registration

  1. Set nameservers (defaults point to our hosting automatically if ordered together).
  2. Verify the registrant email if prompted — ICANN suspends unverified domains after 15 days.
  3. Enable auto-renew: an expired domain can take your website and email down and may cost extra to recover in redemption.

Tip: Keep your client-area contact email on a domain different from the one registered — if the domain fails, you can still receive renewal notices.
