How to Read Your Monthly SEO Report Print

  • 0

Every Lookup Marketing client receives a transparent monthly SEO report. This guide explains each section so you can judge progress yourself, ask sharp questions and connect SEO work to business results.

Organic traffic

This is the count of visitors arriving from unpaid search results. Look at the trend over three to six months rather than month-to-month swings, because seasonality affects almost every Indian business: festive spikes, monsoon dips, financial year-end rushes. We annotate the chart with major changes so you know what caused movement.

Keyword rankings

We track an agreed list of keywords and show position changes. Focus on the keywords that bring buyers, not vanity terms. Moving from position 8 to position 3 for tax consultant in Noida matters more than ranking first for your own brand name, which you would rank for anyway.

Leads and conversions

The most important section. It counts form submissions, phone calls and WhatsApp enquiries attributed to organic search. If traffic rises but leads do not, the issue is usually page experience or targeting, and the report will say what we are changing.

Work completed

A plain list of everything done in the month: pages optimised, content published, technical fixes deployed, links earned with source URLs. You should never wonder what your retainer paid for.

Questions worth asking

  • Which keywords moved and why?
  • Which pages gained or lost traffic?
  • What is planned next month and what do you need from us?

Red flags in any SEO report

  • Only traffic graphs with no lead numbers.
  • Rankings for obscure keywords nobody searches.
  • No list of actual work performed.
  • Metrics that reset or change definition every month.

If a report cannot answer what was done and what it achieved, it is decoration, not reporting.
