Business VPN — Why You Need It & How to Set It Up Print

  • 0

Why a VPN for business

  • Secure remote work — staff on hotel/café/airport Wi-Fi get an encrypted tunnel; passwords and client data cannot be sniffed.
  • Protected admin access — restrict your server, hosting panel or TrueStock dashboard to VPN IPs only.
  • Consistent IP — whitelist one stable IP with banks, APIs and partners instead of every employee's home connection.

Setup

  1. Order the VPN plan from the Store with the number of users you need.
  2. Each user receives credentials/config in the welcome email.
  3. Install the app (Windows, macOS, Android, iOS) or import the config into any OpenVPN/WireGuard client.
  4. Connect — the padlock/connected state confirms the tunnel is active.

Recommended policies

  • VPN mandatory for remote access to admin panels and finance tools
  • One account per employee — never shared — and disable accounts on exit day
  • Enable "auto-connect on untrusted Wi-Fi" in the app settings

Troubleshooting

  • Slow speeds — switch to the nearest server location in the app.
  • Cannot connect on hotel Wi-Fi — use the TCP/443 profile which passes almost every firewall.
