Installing an SSL Certificate on cPanel Hosting Print

  • 0

Free AutoSSL vs paid certificates

  • AutoSSL (free) — DV certificate, auto-issued and auto-renewed for domains pointing to our hosting. Fine for most sites.
  • Paid DV/OV/EV — higher validation, warranty, and company vetting. Required for serious e-commerce, finance and enterprise. Order from Store → SSL Certificates.

Installing a purchased certificate

  1. After ordering, open the SSL service in your client area and click Configure.
  2. Generate the CSR: in cPanel → SSL/TLS → "Generate CSR" for your domain, or ask us to do it.
  3. Complete validation: email (admin@yourdomain) or DNS CNAME record — DNS is fastest if we manage your zone.
  4. Receive the issued certificate (CRT + CA bundle) by email.
  5. cPanel → SSL/TLS → "Install SSL" → paste CRT, key (auto-fetched if CSR was generated there) and CA bundle → Install.

After installation

  • Force HTTPS: cPanel → Domains → toggle "Force HTTPS Redirect".
  • Fix mixed content: update hard-coded http:// links in your theme/database.
  • Test at ssllabs.com — aim for grade A.
