Cloud Migration Services - Our Phased Approach Print

  • 0

A cloud migration done in a hurry produces outages, cost overruns and unhappy users. Tech Guru IT Solutions migrates business workloads to the cloud through a phased method that keeps operations running while systems move. Here is how we work.

Phase 1 - Discovery and assessment

We inventory your applications, servers, databases and their dependencies. Not everything belongs in the cloud, and not everything moves the same way. Each workload is classified: rehost as-is, replatform with minor changes, replace with a SaaS alternative, or retain on-premise. This phase ends with a migration plan and a realistic cost estimate in INR.

Phase 2 - Foundation setup

Before any data moves, we build the landing zone: network design, identity and access controls, security baselines, backup policy and monitoring. Skipping this step is the single most common cause of insecure and expensive cloud estates, so we never skip it.

Phase 3 - Pilot migration

We move one low-risk workload first, validate performance and cost against expectations, and tune the approach. The pilot gives your team confidence and gives us site-specific learning before the critical systems move.

Phase 4 - Wave migration

Remaining workloads move in planned waves, usually during low-business windows such as nights and weekends. Each wave has a tested rollback plan, so if validation fails, users return to the old system without drama.

Phase 5 - Optimisation and handover

After cutover we right-size resources, set up cost alerts, decommission old servers and document everything. Many clients then retain us for cloud managed services, but the documentation is yours either way.

  • Minimal downtime through wave planning and rollback readiness.
  • Fixed-scope commercials agreed before work begins.
  • Post-migration support while your team settles in.
