Boardroom AV Design — Displays, Audio and Control Print

  • 0

The Room Where Impressions Are Made

The boardroom hosts your most important conversations: client pitches, board reviews, investor calls. It is also the room where AV failures cost the most. Boardroom design is therefore an engineering exercise, not a shopping list. Here is how we approach it.

Displays: Size and Sightlines

The working rule is that the farthest viewer should sit no more than four to six times the display height away for comfortable reading of spreadsheets and documents. For a six metre room this typically means a 85 to 98 inch panel, dual 75 inch displays or a fine pitch LED wall. Dual displays earn their cost in video calls: remote participants on one screen, shared content on the other, so nobody talks to a slide.

Audio: The Invisible Half

Boardroom audio must capture every voice around a large table and reproduce remote voices naturally. Our designs use ceiling microphone arrays or flush table microphones feeding a digital signal processor that handles echo cancellation, noise suppression and automatic mixing. Ceiling speakers spread sound evenly so nobody sits in a loud spot. We tune all of this on site with measurement, not guesswork.

Camera Work

Long rooms defeat single fixed cameras. We deploy auto framing and speaker tracking cameras, sometimes two — one covering the table, one for the presenter position — switched automatically by voice activity.

Control: One Touch, Not Five Remotes

A touch panel runs the room through scenes: Meeting wakes displays and sets audio; Presentation dims lights and drops blinds where motorised; Off shuts everything down. Remotes disappear into a drawer, and support calls drop with them.

Cabling and Aesthetics

Boardrooms deserve concealed cabling, floor boxes or table wells, and equipment racks in credenzas or adjacent rooms. We coordinate with your architect during fit-out for the cleanest result.
