Website Redesign — When and How to Do It Right Print

  • 0

A website redesign is a significant investment, so the first question we ask at Lookup Marketing is whether you actually need one. Sometimes a few targeted fixes deliver most of the benefit at a fraction of the cost. Here is how to decide, and how to redesign without losing what already works.

Signs You Genuinely Need a Redesign

  • The site is not mobile friendly — most Indian traffic is on phones
  • Pages take more than three to four seconds to load on 4G
  • The design looks dated next to competitors and hurts trust
  • You cannot update content yourself, or the platform is no longer maintained
  • The structure no longer matches your business: new services, new cities, new positioning

What to Protect During a Redesign

Redesigns fail when they discard SEO equity built over years. Before any old page is removed we:

  1. Export a full list of existing URLs and their search traffic
  2. Map every old URL to its new equivalent with 301 redirects
  3. Preserve page titles, descriptions and content that already rank
  4. Benchmark current speed, rankings and enquiry volumes so improvement is provable

Our Redesign Process

We follow the same lifecycle as a new build — discovery, sitemap, design mockups, development, content migration, testing and launch — with the addition of the redirect map and a post-launch monitoring period of four weeks to catch ranking or tracking issues early. You approve designs before development begins and review the staging site before go-live.

Budget and Timeline Expectations

A typical SMB redesign takes four to eight weeks depending on page count and content readiness. Costs in INR vary with scope, so we always quote after a short discovery call. To find out whether you need a redesign or a tune-up, call +91-8800-567676.
