Google Workspace — Plans, Setup and First Users Print

  • 0

Google Workspace gives your business professional email on your own domain along with Gmail, Drive, Meet, Docs and a full admin console. Tech Guru Club provisions Workspace licences for Indian SMBs with INR billing through the client portal at app.techguru.co.in.

Which plan should you pick?

  • Business Starter — 30 GB per user, ideal for small teams that mainly need email and video calls.
  • Business Standard — 2 TB per user, recording in Meet and shared drives; the most popular choice for growing firms.
  • Business Plus — 5 TB per user, Vault archiving and stronger endpoint controls for compliance-focused businesses.

Start with the smallest plan that fits and upgrade later; plan changes are prorated on your next invoice.

Setup steps after ordering

  1. Order the licences from the client portal and note the number of users you need.
  2. Verify domain ownership. If your DNS is hosted with us, we add the verification TXT record free of cost.
  3. Update MX records to the Google mail servers. Again, this is configured free for hosted domains; just raise a ticket.
  4. Create your first admin account, then add users from the Admin Console under Directory, Users.
  5. Set a strong password policy and enforce 2-Step Verification for every account from day one.

Creating first users correctly

Use a consistent naming pattern such as firstname@yourdomain.in. Create role addresses like sales@ and support@ as groups rather than paid users, since groups are free and can deliver to multiple staff members.

Mail typically starts flowing within an hour of the MX change, though DNS can take up to 24 hours worldwide. If anything looks stuck, open a support ticket from app.techguru.co.in and our team will check the records and provisioning status for you.
