The first month decides whether an inventory system becomes the backbone of your operation or an expensive gadget. This checklist is the exact sequence Tech Guru IT Solutions walks new customers through after installation. Print it and tick as you go.
Week 1: foundation
- Confirm hardware is live: UDR102 tagging station encoding labels, C-72 handhelds logged in, UDM9R gates reading and alarming on test tags.
- Import your item master, either from your accounting software via the integration or from an Excel upload.
- Create users with proper roles. No shared logins from day one.
- Connect the accounting integration, Tally, Zoho, Busy, Marg, Vyapar or MyBillBook, and verify a test entry syncs both ways.
Week 2: tag the warehouse
- Run the opening tagging drive: teams sweep zone by zone, tagging existing stock with ALN-9662 labels and booking it as opening balance.
- Start tagging all new inward at the UDR102 from the first receipt. No untagged stock enters the racks from now on.
- Keep a single exceptions register for anything that cannot be tagged yet, and clear it daily.
Week 3: go live on movements
- Switch outward to scan-based dispatch, so gates only stay silent for scanned, documented stock.
- Enable gate alarms in live mode and brief security staff on the response drill.
- Set up alerts: gate alarms to the manager, daily digest to the owner, sync failures to whoever owns accounting.
Week 4: prove it works
- Run your first full audit with the C-72 and review the variance report as a team, using it to fix process gaps rather than assign blame.
- Set your ongoing audit cadence and schedule it in the system.
- Review plan fit: if you are approaching the unit limit of Starter at 2,000 units, plan the move to Growth or Enterprise before you hit it.
Most customers reach above 99 percent stock accuracy within two audit cycles. Your onboarding period includes priority support, so raise tickets freely, that is exactly what the first 30 days are for.
